This lovely free knitting pattern is a vintage inspired collarette. A simple lace design, choose a stylish button to fasten it and you have a really cute little piece to brighten up a blouse.

Materials Required
1 pair of 9mm needles
1 pair of 6.5mm needles
Approx 20g of aran/worsted thickness yarn Button to fasten
Scissors and needle for sewing up
Abbreviations and Terminology
K – knit
P – purl
k2tog – knit 2 stitches togetherkfb – knit into the front and back of stitch, increasing by 1
Yo – pass the yarn over the right hand needle and to the front Kfb – knit into the front and back of the stitch, increasing by one
Ssk – slip two stitches knitwise individually, then knit them together Rep – repeat

Tension Gauge
Over 5cm in patt on 9mm needles – 8 stitches and 10 rows
Finished Measurements Width approx 10cm and length 36cm.
Knitting Pattern
With 6.5mm needles cast on 3 stitches. Work the following increase rows:
- K3
- Kfb, k1, kfb (5)
- K5
- Kfb, k1, yo, k2tog, kfb (7)
- K7
- Kfb, k5, kfb (9)
- K9
- Kfb, k7, kfb (11)
Change to 9mm needles
Commence the following 4 row lace pattern, working until piece measures 35cm from cast on edge. End with a row 4.
- K3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3
- K2, p7, k2
- K2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk, k2
- K2, p7, k2
Change to 6.5mm needles.
Work the following decrease rows:
- K2tog, k7, k2tog (9)
- K9
- K2tog, k5, k2tog (7)
- K7
- K2tog, k3, k2tog (5)
- K5
- K2tog, k1, k2tog 3)
- K3
Cast off
Make up
Weave in all ends. Sew button in position on side without the buttonhole.
